Dennis Toscano Obituary

Dennis J. Toscano
December 26, 1960 - April 10, 2021
Liberty, NY
Dennis J. Toscano of Liberty passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2021. He was 60.
He was the son of the late Rocky and Kathleen (McLaughlin) Toscano, born on December 26, 1960 in Bronx, NY.
Dennis was one of a kind, earning him the title of The Paintriarch! Recently named best painter in Sullivan County, he took as much pride in his work, as he did in his family. He was a shirt-off-your-back kind of guy that would literally do anything for anyone! Dennis was a survivor, a provider, a confidante, and a true boss! He was given years that he thought he didn't have and was robbed of years that he thought he did! He was a father, brother, uncle, cousin, and so much more, but made everyone feel like they were his best friend. Dennis enjoyed life and being active. He could often be found playing one of several sports, either handball, basketball, volleyball or even skateboarding. He was a baseball coach who loved to help others and enjoyed listening to music and dancing. A true passion for Dennis was riding his motorcycle and he was a member of the Striders Running Club. He was a longtime friend of Bill W, since May 15, 1982.
He is survived by his children: Joseph Toscano (Tricia), Ryan Toscano, step-children: Amy Clark (Felando) and John McDonough (Wasma); their mother, Ruth Kearney, and his girlfriend, Andrea Reale; siblings: Patricia Inman (David) of Swan Lake, Rocky Toscano (Ronni) of Asheville, Rose Toscano (Scott) of Liberty, Jean Toscano (Joe) of Charlotte, Regina Marvel (Shaun) of Naples, Jolene Toscano of Liberty, Ronda Ottino (Scott) of Neversink and Robert Toscano of Liberty; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Rocky and Kathy and siblings: Robert and Frank Toscano and Christine Rubio.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 16 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 275 S. Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 17 at St. Peter's Church, Liberty, NY. Meeting at Sullivan County Boces at 9 a.m. for a funeral procession to the Mass.
Guidelines set forth by the State of New York will be followed, masks and social distancing are required at all times.
The family invites you to join them immediately following the service at Hanoffee Park, Sunset Lake Rd., Liberty, NY.

My deepest condolences to Dennis's children, extended family and friends. I met Dennis last year when he very graciously dropped everything to try to help me in an "emergency" situation prior to a big storm. He went above and beyond for me that cold, rainy night and was as kind, thoughtful and nice as he was diligent at the difficult task at hand.
I'm truly sorry to hear of his untimely passing and hope his family will find comfort in knowing he was an exemplary person who lifted others with his kindness and generosity of spirit.

May Dennis rest in peace...

I've known Dennis for many years. When we would occasionally cross paths he would always say hello and ask how I was doing. I am deeply saddened upon his passing and when I think of him I will remember him fondly. He was a truly good guy and he will be missed and remembered by many who had the honor and privilege to call him friend.
