James Robert Armbrust, a beacon of kindness and a cherished friend to all, left this world on December 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on February 17, 1957, in Liberty, New York, James spent his life bringing joy to everyone he met. His heartfelt spirit shone brightly through his years as a dedicated truck driver, a profession he embraced for 40 years before starting his own trucking business, Here We Go Express, in 2012.
James was not just a man of the road but also of his community. He had a special place in his heart for those who faced challenges in life, actively involved with the Amputee Group in Louisville. His compassion was further reflected in his engagement with various Autism Activities, particularly evident in the countless hours spent with his step-son, Troy, during Challenger Baseball and the Super Kids Soapbox Derby.
Known for his captivating stories about the adventures of truck driving, James never met a stranger; it was as if every person he encountered was destined to become a friend. His joy was in sharing experiences, laughter, and wisdom with those around him. James was also an active member of the Tallmadge Hallmark Club, where he forged lasting bonds with like-minded individuals.
When he was not on the road, James indulged in simple pleasures; he loved mowing the grass and would always spend time spoiling his beloved wife, Cecile, with affection and care. Together, they shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship over their ten years of marriage.
James leaves behind his loving wife, Cecile, his son, Austin Armbrust, his step-son, Troy Roberts, his brother, John (Kathy) Armbrust, his sister, Mary (Tony) Hirsch, and his adored Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler, Betty Blue.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Kay Armbrust, and his sister, Donna.
The loss of James will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He taught us all to embrace life, to befriend strangers, and to find joy in the simple moments. James Robert Armbrust will forever be remembered for his warm heart, vibrant stories, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Visitation for James will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio, on December 23, 2025, from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Final resting place is Holy Cross Cemetery.
