Chance Jaxson Clark

Beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson and best friend, 7 year-old Chance Jaxson Clark tragically died from being hit by a pick-up truck Saturday evening, July 18th. Chance was the consummate little boy and made friends easily with all creatures large and small. He had an amazing imagination, and he loved telling stories while playing with magical dragons and Star Wars and Super Hero figurines where he described dashing stories of epic battles. Anywhere in the house was fair game for his regaling nature, especially while sitting on the family cat's indoor climbing tree. He could be found among a plethora of toys in his room, in the back yard with a frog in hand, or hiding under the principal's desk at school.

A gregarious, loving, inquisitive, little boy, he adored playing with his older brother, Tristan (11 y.o.), and between the two of them, they would sword-fight play, build wonderful Lego creations, play X-box and Wii together, read and draw cartoons, scooter to the local skate park, and were always exploring their environment. Together, they frequented the Monroe, Junction City and Fern Ridge Public Libraries where they poured over Lego books, graphic novels and short stories. Garfield was especially a favorite! They played checkers and Candy Land. They were the best of friends.

Chance was a delightful, bright light and cherished little boy who was dearly loved by all who knew him. He touched so many lives with his magical presence. He finished first grade this year at Monroe Grade School where he began the school year with great trepidation, but finished the year with great confidence having endeared himself to all his classmates and teachers. He loved swimming! It was the last thing he did that Saturday at the local outdoor pool. He loved the color red, he loved the beach and the ocean and all its wondrous creatures, and he loved going fast in Grandpa's boat. He loved being held in his mama's or daddy's arms, being read to or cuddled, or playing at pretending to be a kitten. He loved his cat, Spencer Gadget Flash. (Of course he named him Flash!)

Chance lived in Junction City, Oregon, and leaves behind his mother Jenna (Jennifer) Wheeler of Junction City, father Dudley Clark of Monroe, and siblings Tristan Clark of Junction City, Blaise Clark of Eugene, Lennon Clark and family of Salem, and Sterling Clark of Portland. In Washington, he leaves behind his grandparents Robert and Jytte Wheeler of Bremerton, his Aunt Kristen Wheeler of Kirkland, and his Uncle Bobby Wheeler of Seattle.

A public Celebration of Life will be this coming Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the gym of the Monroe Grade School, 600 Dragon Drive, Monroe, OR 97456.

In lieu of flowers, anyone interested in making a contribution to help the family with related expenses can do so at any branch of the Pacific Continental bank or the Oregon Community Credit Union in the name of Jenna Wheeler for Chance Clark.
