Frances Heath Clark, 86, of Little River Community, passed away on March 3, 2026. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert “Hub” and Lovella Merrill Heath. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Garfield Clark, her sister Nancy Stamps and her brothers, Charles Wayne Heath and James Merrill Heath.
A 1957 graduate of Brevard High School, she was a lifelong resident of Little River Community and lifetime member of Little River Baptist Church where she served in numerous roles over her many years of service. She worked for Ecusta Corporation for 10 years and Transylvania County Schools for 29 years. She worked at Penrose Elementary and later at Pisgah Forest Elementary as a third-grade teacher’s assistant before retiring from the School System.
She married Garfield Clark in February of 1962. Together they shared 63 years of wonderful marriage. She enjoyed gardening and canning, but her greatest joy was her family.
Her loving survivors include her sons: Dennis Clark (Lori) of Little River and Douglas Clark (Wendy) of Lawndale, NC; five grandchildren that she loved dearly: Haley, Jackson (fiancée Brianna Queen), Bryson (fiancée Morgan Wienand), Lauren and Logan Clark; niece Gail Anderson, nephew Herbert Heath, great niece Danielle and great nephew Josh as well as many cousins.
Funeral services for Frances Clark will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Family Life Center. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Little River Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 51 Little River Church Road, Penrose NC 28766.
