Abilene, TX
Brenda Doria Paragas, 64, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 in Abilene, Texas at Hendrick Medical Center.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. A prayer service will follow at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church officiated by Father Sam Matthiesen. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Born in the Philippines on April 3, 1950, Brenda was the daughter of Eulalio B. Doria and the late Petra Ortiz Doria.
Brenda moved from The Philippines to Abilene where she was a registered nurse at Hendrick Medical Center for 37 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene.
She married Edgardo G. Paragas on February 14, 1997 in Abilene.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Edgardo Paragas of Abilene; father Eulalio Doria of Urdaneta City, Philippines; four siblings and their spouses, Leticia Ambrosio and Wilfredo of Abilene, Mario O. Doria and Teresa of San Diego, Eduvije D. Reyes and Jaime of Urdaneta City, Philippines, and Gerard O. Doria and Milissa of Abilene; three stepchildren, Edward Paragas of Cathedral City, CA, Delilah Manimtim of North Hills, CA and Emerson Paragas of Riverside, CA; nieces, Fatima Doria and Veronica Reyes of Urdaneta City, Philippines, Laetitia Doria Hagins of Abilene; nephews, Michael Doria of Houston, Vincent Reyes and Francis Reyes of Urdaneta City, Philippines, Gideon Doria of Bay Area California; Great niece and nephews, Teofila Brenda Doria, Trevone Zachary Alfonso, and Vindol Reyes; and step grandchildren Kayla Paragas, Jede Manimtim, Giovanni Paragas, Brylon Paragas, and Mina Paragas.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Mario Doria, Gerard Doria, Michael Doria, Trevor Hagins, Emerson Paragas, Aldrin Abegania.
