Reno - October 18, 1962-May 2, 2020

Taken from us far too soon and very unexpectedly at Renown Regional Medical Center from a Pulmonary Embolism. Steven was loved and cherished by all who encountered him. He was born with Down Syndrome, cared for his entire life by his parents with the same love and affection as any normal child. He attended Marvin Piccolo School, graduating in 1983. Participated for many years in Special Olympics, in swimming and track. At one point, he swam with the Reno Aquatic Club. He enjoyed family and the many gatherings we all shared.

Steven most loved to go to work. He would've worked 365 days of the year if he could! He worked many years at Washoe Association for Retarded Citizens (WARC) workshop, helping sort all the donations to the WARC Thrift Store. His most recent workplace was at Alpha Productions where he did peace work for local companies.

Steven, in his own way, was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda, and his father, Melvin (Russ). Survived by his mother, Adele; brother, Mitch (Karen Nowicki); brother-in-law, Kirk; nephews, Christopher, Sean (Melissa Nowicki), Brandon, and Jackson; nieces, Ashleigh, Emma, LisaAnne, Caitlynn, and Gianna; along with numerous cousins.

You are now in a better place so Rest In Peace, Steven, You will be loved and remembered by your family and all of those whose lives you touched over the last 57 years. There will be no formal services; however, we will have a Celebration of Life to gather and remember Steven at a later date once the current COVID-19 situation is over. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Special Olympics, Nevada Humane Society, or your favorite charity in Steven's name.
