Reynale Angelbeck Obituary

REYNALE I. ANGELBECK, 101 MOUNT MORRIS - Reynale I. Angelbeck, 101, of Mount Morris died Monday, April 20, 2009, in Ogle County Hospice Serenity House in Oregon. Born Oct. 6, 1907, in Sheboygan, Wis., daughter of George Eisold and Louise (Horn) Eisold. Graduate of Sheboygan High School, Class of 1924, and attended University of Wisconsin for two years. Married Frank H. Angelbeck on Sept. 9, 1933, in Sheboygan; he died Feb. 15, 1994. Came to the community in 1956, from St. Louis Park, Minn. She was a columnist and book reviewer for the Mount Morris Times newspaper for 27 years. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church. During World War II, Reynale was a secretary for the joint chiefs of staff at the Pentagon. Worked for Hubert H. Humphrey's campaign from the time he was mayor of Minneapolis to the campaign for vice-president of U.S. in 1968. She was chairwoman of the Ogle County Democratic party, founder of the Democratic women of Ogle County and former director of Trinity Lutheran Church children choir. Survived by son, Robert P. (Joy) Angelbeck of Mount Morris; step granddaughters, Holly (Dan) Thatcher of Apple Valley, Minn., Pepper (Michael) Lancaster of Rohnbert Park, Calif.; step great-grandson, Caleb Thatcher of Apple Valley; and step great-granddaughter, Emma Thatcher of Apple Valley. Predeceased by parents and husband. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Morris, the Rev. Steven Erickson, pastor will officiate. Burial in Plainview Cemetery in Mount Morris. No visitation. Memorials to Mount Morris Public Library or Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Center. Arrangements by Finch Funeral Home.
