Sonal Puri Obituary
Sonal Puri, 40, Rockford, passed away peacefully, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 16, 1975, in Amritsar, India, the daughter of Raj and Nita (Khanna) Kapur. She received her Bachelor Degree from Rockford College. Sonal married Bharat Puri on July 31, 2004. Sonal was a humanitarian, generously devoting her time and talent to many non-profits, especially Cornucopia Food Pantry. Sonal created a beautiful home for her husband, Bharat and Casper (dog) always welcoming and cooking for their many guests. She always exuded a sense of peace and loving support to those who knew her. Her nurturing ability was felt through every smile and action. Her worship was of the divine self and the elements of nature. Her spirit was palpable. Lovingly survived and will be dearly missed by include her husband, Bharat Puri; brothers, Manish (Becky) Kapur and Nitin (Pooja) Kapur; in-laws, Vijay and Vandana Puri of India; uncle, Sunil Puri; aunt, Jenine Cannell-Puri; cousins, Mansi, Roshni and Sona; several nephews and a niece and her American mother, Halana DeBo.
Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at Rockford First, South Auditorium-Spring Creek Road, Canopy Entrance, 5950 Spring Creek Road. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sonal's name to Cornucopia Food Pantry, 402 Market Street, Rockford, IL 61107. Dearest Sonal , you will be missed and will always hold a special place in my heart. I will always cherish and fondly remember all the good times we had together . Your strength will always inspire me to move on in life and face all the hardships with courage and no complains.
