Sophia M. Bride

NORTH CLARENDON - Sophia M. Bride, 98, a longtime resident of Rutland, died Wednesday, the 12th of October, 2016, at The Pines of Rutland.
She was born July 4, 1918, in West Rutland, Vermont, the daughter of Edward and Wanda (Tyl) Kaszuba.
Sophia was married to Byron Bride for 48 wonderful years.
She was employed with Rutland Visiting Nurses for 35 years until her retirement in 2006.
Sophia loved good food and socializing, enjoyed spending time with friends and family and had a wonderful smile that would light up a room.
She is survived by her sons Edward and Carol Bride of Barre, John and Eileen Bride of Rutland and Peter and Mary Bride of North Clarendon; a daughter, Wanda Bride of Durham, NC; a brother, John and Cecile Tyl of Uncasville, CT. She was also a proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She always loved children and they all loved her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Byron Barney Bride, and by two brothers Henry Tyl and Edward Tyl.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard Tinney.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
