Phyllis Peter Obituary

Phyllis A. (Rizzico) St. Peter, 90, of Rutland, passed peacefully Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Mountain View Genesis Center. She was born on Dec. 12, 1927, daughter of Louis and Mary (Bizzarro) Rizzico.
Phyllis was a devoted, loving and caring mother to her large family and she took pride in their accomplishments, never realizing that she was their true inspiration.
Phyllis had a fun, infectious personality and a willingness to share and laugh. She developed many cherished friendships in her lifetime. She enjoyed weekly card games, dancing, music and hosting parties for family and friends. She prepared her Italian dishes with love for her friends and family and took classes to develop her baking ability and became well-known in the community for her wedding cakes that were delicious works of art.
Surviving are a son, Robert St. Peter Jr. and wife Kathy, of Rutland Town; five daughters Linda Trombley and husband David, of Clarendon, Laura Ross, of Castleton, Debra Visi, of Winooski, Denise Jenne and husband Peter, of Proctor, Mary St. Peter, of Proctor; two sisters Jean Ann Lavictoire, of Clarendon, Josephine O'Byrne, of Chicago, IL; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert V. St. Peter Sr., and her son-in-law, Timothy Ross.
At the request of the family, there are no calling hours.
Private burial will be held at a later date in East Clarendon Cemetery.
The St. Peter family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Mark Stickney, Dr. Mark Sobel and the dedicated staff of both The Meadows and Mountain View Genesis facilities who diligently worked to ensure that comfort care measures were met during this difficult time.
Arrangements are by the Clifford Funeral Home.

To all of my cousins and St. Peter family, I feel saddened to hear of Aunt Phil's passing. I enjoyed my visits with her on my trips to Vermont every year with my mother until she passed away. I enjoyed receiving phone calls from her to keep me posted on the happenings in Vermont with the family. I think of her often and how I enjoyed all the good times we had with her, not to mention the cake decorating and all the wonderful food she prepared. There will always be a special place in m heart for her. I share in your sadness, as I know how I felt when my mom passed away. I was always comforted knowing that it was a peaceful passing, as I am sure you feel the same way. Prayers are with the family.

My heartfelt condolences to all of Aunt Phil's family and friends. She was a huge part of my childhood, and responsible for some of my best memories growing up. She always took great care of us kids, and taught us how to play Canasta (which accounted for hours/days/weeks of entertainment during those long winters :) I will never forget the incredible smells coming from Aunt Phil's house, and hearing The Italian Hour blasting on the radio. Wonderful memories and a great aunt!! Rest in peace, Aunt Phil . . .

To the family of our dear Phyllis, Hairstyles By Geri was the meeting place with Phyllis every Thursday. It wasn't work for me it was time for fun and laughter. All the clients wanted to be in the Salon the same time as Phylis. I feel close to you all because Phyllis would speak such kind words about her family. She was one of my very favorites. We send our deepest sympathy in the loss of such a kind caring friend.

Thinking of all of us during this heartbreaking time. So hard to say goodbye to the very special ones no matter what age. We all were so fortunate and very blessed to be next door to one another. i will always remember going over to my Aunt Phills for the Christmas soup and her trademark chicken cacciatore and genettes. Loved seeing and spending time with her every time there was a new cake masterpiece. Always was in awe of it. Most importantly, her laugh. she is one guardian angel i shall welcome watching out for me and looking over my shoulder. Sure will miss you.
