Doris Lau Obituary

Doris passed away peacefully on November 11, 2016. In her final days she was surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Henry, and is survived by her children and their spouses; Gordon, Janet, Grace, Kevin and Ross, as well as her grandchildren, Courtney, Christopher, Kristen, Reid and Annika. She completed High School in China and attended an English school in Hong Kong. After marrying in Hong Kong, she moved to Sacramento where her children were raised. She lived a life of faith, joy, and love. In Sacramento she made lifelong friends with whom she shared many hobbies, one of which was cooking. She was a wonderful cook who was very generous in sharing her recipes and found joy in making special dishes for family and friends. She also enjoyed tending over her orchids which brought a warmth and richness to the household. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. A private family service has been held. If you wish, a remembrance can be made to the Sacramento Asian Community Center or a charity of your choice.
