Daniel Pisani Obituary

PISANI, Daniel Joseph
Aug. 24, 1925 - Dec. 11, 2008
Surrounded by love and in the arms of his family, this Angel on Earth was lifted up to Heaven. Preceded in death by his parents, Dante and Josephine and brothers, Bobby and Louie. Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Kathleen; cherished daughters, Shelley Wright (Steve) and Kimberley Gibson (Charlie) and his greatest treasures, grandchildren, Maxine Scheiber (Morris), Kenneth D. Kaestner (Tammy), Lauren Gibson, Makenna Gibson, Logan Gibson and great-grandchildren, Morris and Mason Scheiber. Born and raised in Sacramento he left Sacramento High School to join the Coast Guard during World War II, through Operation Recognition he was able to receive his high school diploma in 2007 at the age of 81. Upon returning from the war he returned to work at Southern Pacific Railroad where heremained for over 40 years. His love of his family was evident to all who knew him and family gatherings were something he always looked forward to. When it came to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the word "no" did not exist. It was very common for him to stick a few dollars or candy in their pockets, "just in case you need something". His absence in our family will leave a great void that can never be filled. Rosary will be on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6pm at Nicoletti, Culjis, and Herberger 5401 Folsom Blvd. with viewing from 4-6pm. Funeral Service on Friday, Dec. 19, 1pm at Saint Mary's Church with graveside services at Saint Mary's Cemetery. A reception will be held at The Knights of Columbus Hall on Newman Court. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Jane Tsai for her loving care and concern for our father. He is rounding third and heading for home ... He is safe!
