Matthew Wallace Obituary

1982 ~ 2015
Matthew Eccles Wallace loving son, brother and grandson passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
Matthew was born on July 16, 1982 to Michelle (Shelley) Montmorency and Robert B. Wallace (his best friend) . He attended Bonneville Elementary, J.E. Cosgriff Memorial, Judge Memorial Catholic High School, the University of Utah and was currently attending SLCC.
Matthew was the sweetest person. He had a heart of gold. He loved his family first and then his friends followed close behind. He always wanted everyone to be happy and would help them in doing so. He had a great love for animals. He especially loved the family dog Rosie and the 3 kitties. Matthew played the guitar from a young age and had a great love of music. He read constantly and was always learning new things. He had a great sense of humor and would always make his mom smile with his little jokes.
Matthew spent some time in Germany and through Judge Memorial he became fluent in German and became an exchange student which was one of his greatest adventures. He loved Germany and always wanted to return. Recently Matthew also learned to read and write Arabic and found an interest in Islam.
Matthew is survived by his mother and father; brother Christopher A. Wallace; sister Lara M. Wallace; step-brothers Andrew and Nicholas Aloia; and grandmother Carole E. Montmorency. He has many uncles, aunts and cousins whom he loved. Preceded in death by Uncle John F. Montmorency; grandparents; and also his beloved step-father Patrick H. Aloia.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 3rd at 10:00 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Ave., Salt Lake City. We request you send donations to The Humane Society of Utah or a charity of your choice in Matthew's name. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.starksfuneral.com

My sweet Matthew. I miss you as much as I ever have , now 5 years since your passing. My heart aches to hear your voice and silly jokes. I would love to have one of your bear hugs. They were the best! You have a niece now who would love you like crazy. Ava Grace reminds me of you as a baby. Always happy and doing something. Today I will honor you with prayers and thoughts. I love you! You are always my first born. Love you forever. Mom

Shelley, I am so sorry. Words cannot express how Matt's death is all so shocking. My heart goes out to you. We need to continue going to dinners and just keep talking. Maybe together we can find strength.
Matt was a really nice guy. May he rest in peace.
