Chase Richards Obituary

1988 ~ 2016
Chase Richards our beloved son, husband, brother, father, uncle and friend died peacefully of natural causes on April 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Chase lived an extraordinary life. His heart was as big as the world around us. He attended Jordan High School where he excelled in all sports being named All State in basketball and track. He graduated from Montana State University in 2012 and was a member of their basketball team playing alongside his brother Preston in the N.C.A.A. tournament.
After graduation he served a mission for his Savior in the New York Utica Mission from 2012 - 2013. He loved his mission and the people he served. Chase was an "extraordinary" missionary. Chase married his sweetheart, Jenna Dredge in the Salt Lake Temple on September 6, 2014 and their son Jack was born August 6, 2015. Chase loved "Baby Jack" so very much. Chase touched many lives with his big time personality, wit, kindness and love. He wore his personality on his sleeve and would do "anything" for "anyone". His heart was gold.
He is survived by his eternal wife Jenna, his beloved son Jack, his father and mother Doug and Kerry, his brothers, Lance, Jason, Tyler and Preston (his sidekick), his sister Laura and 15 nieces and nephews who he adored.
Chase accomplished so very much in his short time on earth . . . probably because he ran so fast! Chase will be sorely missed.
Yes Chase, as you would often say, "You were (and still are) kind of a big deal!!"
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Sandy Crescent Ridge Stake Center, 1265 East 11000 South. Viewings will be held on Friday, April 8 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. Online condolences may be sent to larkincares.com

I feel really bad I remember Mr Elder Richards when I was trying to find God when I was married with my husband Kenny he helped us with our marriage so much and he helped us get closer to God and he's done so much for us I had stepped away from the church for a long time and I just recently found the woman church again he always has been on my mind I kind of heartache to not want to know why but it's so funny I remember the good times I've had with him and the fun times I've had and I remember the good heart he had regardless of what my husband done behind his back or what I have done behind his too the bond that we share will never break apart because that Bond was already there the day that I got to meet him coming into the church he was such a strong-willed person I was actually just trying to search for him on Facebook when I realized I came across this obituary my heart was struck in pain and I was confused my condolences to the family stay strong he is with Jesus Christ now and he is doing well

I am so very sorry for your loss. I still remember coaching both Chase and Preston in Jr. Jazz when they were very young. They were already more advanced than my coaching skills, and they ran fast breaks on the other opponents all game long. I knew both would be very special players. Both also turned into great young men who set an example in every aspect of their lives. May the Lord keep all of you in his arms and comfort you at this time of need.

Doug and Kerry, I was at BYU the same time you were. I was mindful of both of you at basketball games. Now I live in the NY Utica Mission but Elder Richards never served in my area. My heart breaks with you. I'm praying for your family.

Richards family,

I remember when Chase was born. Then several years later I had the wonderful opportunity to serve as his home teaching companion. Please know that life is eternal, that death does not terminate our existence, that the greatest joys of families will be carried on beyond the grave. We love Chase and we will miss him. Our heartfelt condolences to the family.
