Martine Bruce Obituary

BRUCE
She experienced the joys and trials of this life from September 22, 1926 to November 8, 2012 where at the age of 86 years of age she entered into the joys, rest and rewards of eternal life with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Martine was born in Memphis, TN to Jesse and Marie (Waters) Russell. Three sisters preceded her in death: Merline Russell, Faye Russell Jones, and Shirley Russell Wilson. She is survived by three siblings: Edward Russell, Margaret Russell Boone, and Raymond Russell and wife Barbara.

She married W.H. Bruce of Dyersburg, TN in 1945. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1991. They spent the entirety of their married life in Memphis, TN. living in the home they constructed in 1950 and where she resided until moving to San Antonio, TX in 1997. In San Antonio she lived with son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Phyllis Bruce, for three years until moving into her home at 15327 Tamaron Valley, San Antonio, TX.

She also was preceded in death by son, Freddie O. Bruce of Olive Branch, MS. She is survived by Freddie's family: wife, Linda, daughter Laura and great granddaughter Lindsey, and stepson Gene.

She also is survived by son: Kenneth Larry Bruce and wife Phyllis (Jones) Bruce of San Antonio and their children: Eric of Los Angeles, CA; Keith and Angela of San Antonio; and Kyle and wife Vanessa (Reyes) Bruce and great granddaughter Makylee of Clinton Township, MI.

She was loved and will be greatly missed also by her husband's siblings and their families as well as previous co-workers, neighbors, friends and especially by her church family at Talley Road Baptist Church.
