Sister Janet Regina Dougherty, IHM - IMMACULATA, PA - Sister Janet passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Camilla Hall Nursing Home in Immaculata, PA. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 21, 1933 to the late William and Florence D. Dougherty. She was the youngest of five and had all brothers. She is survived by her brother, James (Genevieve) of Hilton Head, SC and nieces and nephews, Mary Janet, Bruce, David and Cathy, grandnieces and grandnephews. Sister Janet was a kind and loving person, always smiling and greeting everyone she met with love and graciousness. At every school she was sent to from Philadelphia to California, from Falls Church, VA to Savannah, GA, Sister Janet was endeared to everyone she met, children to adults. She will surely be missed by her family, the IHM Congregation, the sisters at St. James Convent, the many dear friends and coworkers at St. James Church and School, in Falls Church, VA, Philadelphia, and California. May the lord keep Sister Janet in the palm of His hand. The Funeral Mass will be in Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 1st at Camilla Hall with Father Mark Ross as celebrant. Burial will be in the IHM Community cemetery. At a later date, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church in Savannah, GA. Sr. Janet was one of the kindest, smartest and most cheerful educators we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She helped our children in countless ways. We will hold the memory of her line dancing at Bishop Boland's birthday party near and will pray for Sr. Janet and her family.

Dear Sisters of IHM and family of Sr. Janet, I am sure this is a great loss for you. Sr. Janet was a treasure, never without a smile. May she be resting in the arms of the Lord or perhaps choosing the dance music to her liking. God is with you all.
