Bobby (The Smoothman) Watson was one of a kind. He was my brother and a great husband and role model for his family. I have missed him so much this past year and he will live in my heart until the day the Lord calls me home.

Bob was such a nice guy, when ever I spoke to him it was such a pleasure, he was like a close friend that you don’t get to so all the time and it was like you had just seen each other. I will miss his conversations.

He was the best. A true brother from two different mothers. One of the best athletes to be born and bred in Portsmouth. He was a three sport star at Portsmouth High School excelling in Football, Basketball and Baseball. Because of his personality and love of people and his family, especially my sister Ann, I called him 'The Smoothman'. There will never be another Smoothman. He was in a class all by himself.

I am so very sorry to hear of Bob's death (just now.) He and Ann were such a wonderful presence in the church and I had the privilege of knowing them, and their joy in each other, while serving as interim pastor. What a gift their lives were! And now, they live on together.

Bob was such a wonderful man. Always smiling, always a sense of humor. He was proud of his being on a pro ball team, but even more proud of capturing Ann's heart. He liked to say he got her early before anyone else could. They were an intragal part of Greenland Community Congregational Church and will forever be remembered.
