JoAnn Watson 91 of Lafayette Indiana received her angel wings at 11:40 am Friday March 27th 2026 JoAnn was Born September 17th 1934 in Lafayette Indiana to Kathlyn and Homer Lamar. Her father died when she was only 6 weeks old. JoAnn was raised on a farm by her mother and grandparents in Idaville Indiana. She Graduated from Roosevelt High School in Monticello Indiana.

She met the love of her life, James Watson, on a hay ride with the rural youth 4-H group, during their senior year. They Married in 1954 and were married for 67 1/2 years.

JoAnn was an avid Bridge player competing in many tournaments. She also loved playing games on her computer. She loved traveling and loved riding with her husband on their motorcycle adventures.

She was also a long time member of the Psi Iota xi sorority and Home Ec club and taught Sunday school in her younger days. In her employment outside of the home. JoAnn worked in the Registrar's office at Purdue, Bennetts Green house and Industrial Federal Credit Union. She was one of the first 5 employees of the credit union and the first employee to retire from there. She also assisted her husband with his Tax and Accounting Business for many years.

JoAnn was a hard-working mother. She loved to garden, cook and she made the best pies. Her biggest pride of achievement was raising her family and watching their families grow.

She thoroughly enjoyed being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Holidays were her favorite time when the house was full of love and laughter. She loved music and singing in the church choir and was

a member of Christ United Methodist for many years.

JoAnn was a very social person and knew so many people. She would want everyone to know how much they all meant to her. She loved you all!

Preceding her in Death are her parents, husband and 2 sisters in-law.

JoAnn is survived by her Brother William(Bill) Suiter of Springfield IL

Children: Jeff (Donna) Watson, John (Jody) Watson, and Jill (John)Studer.

Grandchildren: Holli Hunter(Aaron Shonk), Jack (Soutsana)Watson, Jenny Watson (Ben Johnson), Joshua (Sadie) Watson, Jamie Watson, Jacob (Valeri) Walker, Justin (Anna)Walker.

11 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandsons.

Services will be Saturday April 4th at Christ United Methodist Church. Visitation from 11-1 service from 1-2 with burial immediately to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens 1718 W. 350 N. West Lafayette IN 47901.
