Peter Wegner Watson

On March 27, 2026, Peter Wegner Watson, 78, passed away at Maplewood Healthcare Center in West Allis, WI, following a battle with multiple intranidal aneurysms. He departed this life peacefully, comforted by the presence of Marcia, his wife of 55 years who remained faithfully by his side.

Pete was born to Richard and June Watson in Wauwatosa, WI, on May 19, 1947. Following his 1965 graduation from Wauwatosa East High School, he attended UW-Whitewater,

where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and completed his business administration degree in 1970.

In August of 1970, Pete enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Shortly after, he married Marcia (Bartholomew) on November 21, 1970. With his new friends in green, his fraternity brothers in tow, and his wife by his side, it was at this time when his journey gained its full momentum. He parlayed his infectious personality, sharp mind, and plentiful experiences into a great friend, husband, father, and successful 37-year career as a sales manager in wine and spirits.

He is survived by his wife Marcia, children Sarah (TJ) Biagioni, Peter (Sara) Watson, grandchildren Tre Biagioni and Emery Watson, brother Tom (Christina) Watson, sister Kathy (Bruce) Baker, sisters-in-law Joan Childers, Christine Morgan, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters-in-law Susan Rommelfanger and Mary Fox, and brothers-in-law William Childers, Phillip Fox, and Mark Morgan.

Pete's life was a collection of well-told stories. Whether recounting childhood memories with his siblings or his latest self-deprecating mishap, he possessed a rare command of the room and an effortless gift for storytelling. His tales were told with wit, warmth, and copious laughter that made everyone feel like they'd been there with him.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to the neurology team at Froedtert Hospital, its rotation of ICU nurses who cared for Pete, and the many outstanding caregivers at Maplewood and Horizon Hospice for their compassion.

Gathering will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin 53072 on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Memorial Service at 3:00 PM.
