William Ross Cheesman

A great man has taken his walk to the heavens at 80 years of age. He was surrounded by family in his last days. He has left behind a legacy throughout not only his family but his industry.

His family was always put first no questions asked. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Noreen, loving mom of Cathy, Betsy and Robert; twenty plus foster children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His three children could not have asked for a better mentor or listener. His grandchildren and foster children were his world, and he cherished sharing his life and knowledge with every one of them. He always talked about every vacation he took each of them on. When his great-grandchildren visited it was some of his happiest moments and he loved little children running around. He and his wife fostered so many children not only before they had their own but all through retirement. In life it is not wealth or status, it is the gifts you leave behind. It is the love you spread, the knowledge you shared, the wounded you heal, paths you change, the eyes you open and the hearts you touch. Ross did all these things to so many people. He had another family, his friends and employees. To him family meant more than blood, it was the way you treated each other.

He will be remembered for these things and many more I missed. He will not be forgotten in our hearts and prayers. Those of us that truly knew him will look forward to meeting him in heaven.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Ross's life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place before service from 2:00 PM – 4:45 PM.
