Joseph Jabon Obituary

Joseph A. JABON, Sr. Age 77, of Bellevue, died Sunday, August 11 at age 77. He was born in New Orleans, LA. April 30, 1925 and graduated from Tulane University. He was a WWII Veteran in U.S. Navy enlisting in 1942 and discharged in 1945. He served in the Pacific Theater. He was employed in the freight forwarding business for 30 years and owner of Jabon Freight Forwarders. He achieved highest rank attainable through the American Contract Bridge League - Grand Life Master. His hobbies and personal achievements were bridge, golf, horseracing, sportsman hunting and fishing. Joe's love of life and exuberance will always be remembered. He was instrumental in producing musical comedy shows that entertained hundreds at local and national bridge tournaments. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jabon of Bellevue, stepson Bruce Jacobs of Boston, Mass., stepdaughter, Pamela Jacobs of Bellevue, siblings, Bob Jabon of Valdosta, GA., Gloria Hoover of San Antonio, TX., Leatrice Couch of San Antonio, TX., two step grandchildren. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 14 at 10 a.m. at Green's Bellevue Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS Association, 15300 Ventura Blvd. Suite 315, P.O. Box 5951, Sherman Oaks, CA. 91403. Green's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
