Grant was a tremendous member of our team. He was a wonderful person and I am so glad I was able to get to know him. We will miss him.

I worked in the same group with Grant from when I hired on at Boeing in 1979 until Grant retired. He was always a gentleman, a good mentor an had a great sense of humor. I was always impressed by his dedication to his physical fitness by jogging each noon hour. So long Grant, I am honored to have known and worked with you.

I knew Grant for maybe 6-7 years during my first few years at Boeing Computer Services. I never knew he had such a colorful and distinguished past. I wonder if he knew my Uncle who also was a navigator in the RAF during WW II... I'm sorry to have read about him passing away -- reaching an age of 94 is pretty good for his generation... too bad and he surely will be a loss to his family and his community. Yes, the end of an era...

Grant hired me directly out of Cal. Besides being my boss he was a true friend and helped me get settled into my new life in Seattle and the Boeing Company.
We could always rely on him to proofread everything (including company notices). He was the unofficial VP of syntax and grammar.
We worked together for more years than I care to admit, and he will be missed.

I also worked with Grant for quite a few years. He used to wear kind of an English style hunting cap which had a brim on both the front and the back. He used to call it his BCS hat because nobody could tell whether he was coming or going.
Grant was a very funny guy and had good technical skills in addition to his huge people skills. He was always sharp as a tack. I still have some of his memoes saved in my archives. I felt honored to sit next to him for the few years that I did.
Happy trails to you, Grant.

Grant and I worked together for many years and I always enjoyed his sense of humor. One morning he came to my office door and just stood, quite ill at ease. I asked him what was wrong and he said he needed to report a case of sex discrimination. I asked against whom and he replied, against him because none of the women pay any attention to him anymore.
