Don Navarre Obituary

Captain Don Navarre

Captain Don Navarre for Snohomish County Fire District 1 passed away at the age of 57 at his home in Kirkland, Washington on January 19, 2014 after a courageous 9-year battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Don was born May 22, 1956 in Monroe, Michigan.

During Don's 23 years serving as a career firefighter, he was promoted into a number of positions to include Captain, Inspector, and Paramedic. Don would want us to remember him as a man of great pride, strength and passion for his family and his career as a firefighter. He is survived by his wife, Janet; four beautiful daughters: Andi, Dani, Jessi and Jacki. He lived his life with courage and conviction.

He will be greatly missed by all that know him especially his mother, Virginia Navarre, siblings: Renee, Steve, Shelly, Mari and Nick.

A memorial service will take place on January 28, 2014 at 1pm at Westgate Chapel, 22901 Edmonds Way, Edmonds. A reception will be held immediately following at Nile Country Club, 6601 244th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Medic One Foundation or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Firefighter Stair Climb.

Thinking of you Janet and your family during this difficult time. Remembering Don and his constant teasing of me way back when --- during those good ole dating days. Love you -- Karen & Tim Bernhardt
