Eddie and I went to elementary school together and had many things in common. Eddie was always funny and enjoyed playing baseball and just about any sport we had. He was always the smartest kid in the class. I always thought he was going to be a rocket scientist or something requiring a high degree of thought. I was not surprised to find he had become a physician. God gifted him with the talent and he used his gift to help people. I am just finding out about his passing and I am glad he has touched so many people with his skills and blessings.

I was a patient of doctor Callan and he helped me a lot, a surgery and many other problems I experienced ,,one day ,while waiting to get a prescription at the Kaiser facilities in Richmond, I saw him, we said Hi to each other, but I noticed that this doctor was tired, his eyes were looking at the ceiling ,almost like a form of meditation ,he looked like an angel in the sky..I told him...Dr you had a hard day I can tell...he just rolled his eyes and give me a big smile ..he died a couple of weeks later ,I could not believe this..RIP doctor Ed.

I was saddened to hear from Kaiser today that Dr. Callan had passed away. He did surgery on my vocal cords twice and for eight years I keep going back for checks. He always was so friendly and kind and his surgery was excellent. I will miss him.

This man saved my life. He found a spot on my thyroid and took it out even though the surgery was to remove a tumor on my throat. he apologized for removing my left side thyroid and I thanked him because his hunch was right. he was very smart and a God send. I guess the Lord needed another angel up there. God bless his family and keep them strong. I will miss my doctor and his good sense of humor.

I don't believe Diane and I have seen Ed since medical school but hearing of his passing brings a great sorrow to us. I will always remember his smile and humor. He was always great to be around. Who can forget him on the cover of our medical school skits program?! Ed always made you laugh and seemed to enjoy anywhere and anyone he was with. I know he will be missed greatly by those whom have had the opportunity to live and work with him during his life. I know we miss him even after so long.

Ed, you were my first and oldest friend. I learned much from you, first songs I sang, baseball cards, army men, Green Eggs and Ham, to have adventure, first piano piece I played, to be a good student, to work hard, the way I drive, and by your example how to be a good daughter, sister, friend, and aunt. You cheered for me even though my pursuits took different directions then yours. Although in CA, you were part of my life, whether laughing on phone over football or lotto picks,in NY for art expedition, golf, Sail Boston '93, Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, or LSO-Bach Festival concert. I'm still learning from you—it's not the number of years, but what you make of them. You inspire me to rally. It helps that you left us with many fond memories. I miss you, bro, and look forward to seeing you again. God be with you. You are in good company.
