Lenard Mayrisch Obituary

Lenard Mayrisch, Jr. 90, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2007 at home in Sonoma. Lenard was born December 19, 1916 in Oakland to Ernest and Beatrice Mayrisch. He graduated from Alameda High School and then entered University of California at Berkeley. While at Berkeley, Len was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and later served as the national treasurer of the fraternity. Upon graduation from Cal in 1938, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry Branch. He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. Lenard remained active in the Army Reserves, eventually retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Professionally, Len had a 35 year career in investment banking. His interests included: his church, stamp collecting, spending time with his family and friends at the Perry Gulch Ranch, the Cal Bears, and a good game of dominoes. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Perry Mayrisch; his children: Len (wife, Mary) Mayrisch, H. Perry (wife, Martha) Mayrisch, and Robin (husband, Thomas) Andrae; grandchildren: Ashley, Braeden, Patrick, and Anne Rosa Mayrisch; sister, Jeanne (husband, Bill) McWhinney, and nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Thur., May 10, 2007, 11 AM, Mountain View Cemetery, 5000 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA 94611. Memorial donations in Lenard's honor may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements under the direction of: DUGGAN'S MISSION CHAPEL Sonoma, CA (707) 996-3655
