Today is Ellen's birthday and I will remember her always as a good friend from Penn who I had the pleasure of traveling to Italy with in 1985. We always laughed a lot and generally had a great time together. She was talented and generous and had a real "joie de vivre". I will treasure those memories always.

I met Ellen at the University of Chicago while we were getting our MBAs. We became friends and kept in touch over the years. Our careers and lives crossed even though she was mostly on the west coast and me in fly-over country. I always enjoyed her company, her humor and her straightforward approach. I was shocked to hear that she had passed and will miss her in my life.

I was Ellen's hairstylist for over 15 years. She and I would have some great conversations and lots of laughs about me trying to convince her to wear her hair naturally curly :) She had a kind spirit and a warm heart and I will miss her.

Ellen was one of the best CEOs I worked for. She kept the work place very live and was friendly to all of us. The whole office used to dine together on Fridays and we all had great fun. Every now and then, Ellen would come around and would like to appreciate each of our good work

Ellen and I worked together for more than 5 years. I was happy to know her, and will always remember her strength while battling this terrible disease. I will keep her and her entire family in my prayers.

A class act and wonderful friend to my niece, Sue. And I do remember how much fun it was to have been in Paris with the girls from LM....great memories of a great girl!

Ellen was one of my very dearest friends. We met at Advanced Fibre in 1997 and quickly became close. We traveled together, Italy for New Years, Biked from Banff to Jasper, hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
She had her 50th birthday party at her house in Napa. The picture is from her party with good our other good friend Jeanne. Ellen laughed and smiled a lot as we drank great wine that she and Don made. We spoke often about the day when we would be little old ladies together. Over her battle with Cancer, Ellen often expressed how blessed she was to have Don by her side. She had many friends in the SF Bay area and know that she is loved and is deeply missed by all.

I am so sorry to read of Ellen's passing. If I'm not mistaken, she took part in a Junior class Spring trip to Paris in 1978, led by Swarthmore High School French teacher Nancy Gabel. This joint venture--kids from Lower Merion & Swarthmore, was an eye opener in so many ways. I was truly wowed by Ellen's poise, maturity, humor, & sheer bravery: she posed for a glamorous photo with a rose in her teeth! She was an amazing person way back then, & I see from her obituary that she no doubt continued to "wow" folks throughout her too short life. My deepest sympathy to her family & friends.

Sleepovers at Ellen's house and cooking frozen pizza are some of my best childhood memories. My thoughts go out to Ellen's family and friends. May her memory always be for a blessing.
