Vogel, Lorraine A.

Lorraine A. Vogel, age 90, a resident of Laurel Grove, Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning, June 16, 2015 at the Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

She was born on July 29, 1924 in School Hill, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Koesser) Karstaedt. On July 10, 1943, Lorraine married Stanley G. Vogel at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2008. Lorraine was employed at the Manitowoc Health Care Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years, retiring in 1989. She also was employed with the United States Treasury Department- Bureau of Customs in Manitowoc, holding this position for 13 years. The couple also owned and operated the KO-Z Place Farm in Manitowoc Rapids for many years. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching, cheering for the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include one son: Daniel Vogel, Monona, Wisconsin; one son-in-law: Mike (Paulette) Shallue, Manitowoc; one daughter-in-law: Linda Vogel, Colby, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren: Mike Shallue and Lisa Steinbruecker, Amy and Brian Bock, Angela and Dan VanVeldhuizen, John Felber, Megan and Mike Suszek, Elisabeth and Andrew Callan, Emily and Ben Todt, Philip Vogel, and Andrew Vogel; and ten great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Lorraine was also preceded in death by one daughter: Judith; one son: James; six sisters; and one brother.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw.
