Ted Grayson Obituary

TED GRAYSON

SHELBY- Ted Ervin Grayson, 80, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late John Avery and Janet Oveda Price Grayson.

He served in the Army and was a member of the Shelby Exchange Club, Westwood Heights Baptist Church, where he was in the Men's Sunday school class, and a former deacon at Dover Baptist Church. Ted retired from the US Postal Service.

In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Allen Grayson

He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Elizabeth "Lib" Scruggs Grayson, of the home; daughters, Donna Sammons and husband Greg of Taylors, SC, and Kathy Sparks and husband Alan of Lawndale; brother, Ken Grayson and wife Helen of Shelby; grandchildren, Beth Ussery of Greenville, SC, Shelby Lalani and husband Travis of Greer, SC, and Elizabeth Ann Sparks of Lawndale; great-granddaughter, Autumn Ussery; two nephews; five great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m., Saturday, at the church, and other times at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Westwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Costner officiating.

Burial will be at Cleveland Memorial Park

Memorials may be made to Life Enrichment Center, 110 Life Enrichment Blvd., Shelby, NC 28150 or Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150 or Westwood Heights Baptist Church, 650 Dellinger Rd., Shelby, NC 28152

To Ted's family,I have great and fond memories of growing up with Ted outside Shelby.We went to school together, participated in Boy Scouts, and just had fun. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief. Sincerely.
