Susan Chadwick Obituary
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated for Susan Roberts Chadwick at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Craig Scott officiating and under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
Friends are invited to call upon the family Saturday at St. Rita Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Born on May 31st 1935, she died June 23rd, 2014 surrounded by her loving husband of 57 years and their 5 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Roberts, Jr. and Mary Marshall Roberts and her brother, Robert Roberts, III.
Mrs. Chadwick was a loving wife and mother. A Shreveport native, she married Robert O'Neal Chadwick from Bayou Goula, Louisiana. They settled in Alexandria where Susan became an active member of the community. She was a member of The National Society of the Colonial Dames and President of Alexandria chapter of the Junior League. She also served as a member of the Alexandria Garden Club. A lifelong tennis player, she coached the Holy Savior Menard Central High School tennis team. Mrs. Chadwick was a member of St. Rita Church where she served as both lector and Eucharistic Minister.
Her first love was always her family. She is an inspiration both as a wife and mother. She was a loyal friend to many.
Mrs. Chadwick is survived by her husband, Dr. O'Neal Chadwick, and her children: Mary Chadwick Hancock, Robert O'Neal Chadwick Jr., Catherine Chadwick Kaetzer, Susan Chadwick Brame, and Herbee Chadwick. Grandchildren: Laura Catherine Hancock Swarts, Robert Brian Hancock, Eleanor Wagner Chadwick, David O'Neal Chadwick, O'Neal Chadwick Kaetzer, Robert Henry Kaetzer, William Zielke Kaetzer, Mary Susan Roberts Kaetzer, Mary Marshall Brame, Catherine Engelke Brame, Lucy Elizabeth Chadwick, Andrew O'Neal Chadwick. Great-Grandchildren: Harper Catherine Swarts and Henry O'Neal Swarts. She is also survived by her sister Olive Roberts Forman.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be her grandsons Rob, Chadwick, Henry, William, Andrew and David.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Rita Catholic Church, 3822 Bayou Rapides Road, Alexandria, LA 71303 or the charity of your choice.

The Lorio's are so sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. All the kids enjoyed the Chadwicks as we were growing up and have so much respect for the family. Thanks, again, Neal, for taking time last week to visit with us on our loss at a difficult time for your family. Much appreciated.

My condolences to the Chadwick family. This is Greg Thibeaux. I went to school with Susan (jr). I was heartened to read that you were all able to be with your mom before her death. While I did not know your mom all that well, I can say that she raised a truly outstanding family. All of the children were exemplary students with unique and strong personalities, and I believe that much of this had to do your mom's guidance and love for her children. I'm very sorry for the loss of your mother.
