PATRICK JANICKI Obituary

June 29, 1987 -
August 18, 2017

Patrick Alan Janicki, 30, of Sedro-Woolley, WA, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA.

Patrick, made friends with everyone he met, would help anyone at any time, and had a smile that melted hearts. Patrick's goal in life was to create memories by bringing energy and fun to every event.

The youngest of five children, Patrick was born in Mount Vernon, WA on June 29, 1987. He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 2006 and from Gonzaga University in 2010 where he earned his Bachelor in Business Administration.

After a brief time in Seattle, Patrick returned home to work with his father in the family logging business. Patrick was recently installed onto the Sedro-Woolley Rotary Board and helped construct many Rotary projects. He was especially proud of the Nathan Nakis climbing boulder at Evergreen Elementary. Patrick served on the board for the Olympic Logging Conference. Patrick earned his Eagle Scout rank in high school and continued to live by scouting values and with a love of the outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Lisa Janicki; grandparents, Richard and Kathy Millison of Clovis, CA, John Patterson and Rita Ramos of Anchorage, AK; siblings and in-laws, Jordan and Courtney Janicki of Big Lake, Stephanie and Greg Bachmeier of Sedro-Woolley, Adam Janicki of Seattle, and Peter and Kaitlyn Janicki of Sedro-Woolley; nephew Jordan P. Janicki; nieces, Natalie and Ashley Janicki, Adelaide and Laile Bachmeier, and Blakely Jo Janicki; aunts and uncles, Jim and Jeanne Gross, Kevin and Mary McGoffin, John and Katherine Janicki, Rob and Kara Janicki, Peter and Susan Janicki, Kyle and Sarah Rutherford, Patricia Blake of Seattle, and Mike and Kelley Mills of Anchorage. Patrick is also survived by numerous cousins and "best friends" who loved him.

Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Ann Janicki; uncle, Stanley Joseph Janicki; cousin, Nathan Janicki.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for a playground Patrick wanted to build with Rotary. Sedro-Woolley Rotary Foundation, PO Box 726, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.

Patrick spent his life gathering people and making sure that everyone had a good time. Please join us to remember this remarkable young man. Celebration of Life with sharing of stories will be held Sunday, Aug. 27, 2 pm at Cascade Middle School, 905 McGarigle Rd, Sedro-Woolley.

A Rosary/Vigil Service will be Sunday, Aug. 27 at 8 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Sedro-Woolley. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Aug. 28 at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Mount Vernon. A time of visitation will be available 9-5 Thursday and Friday, and 3:30- 6:30 on Saturday at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.

Thank you for letting us share in the celebration of life today. I can see where Patrick got his courage!

I have known Patrick only since late 2014 and as part of a business leadership peer group. Because I also had the privilege of sharing one-on-one meetings with Patrick, I learned a good deal about him -- not only his business strategies, challenges, and opportunities, but also his life challenges and dreams. I feel blessed to have known him.

In our group, Patrick was the only one to wear a cap :-), he tended to arrive a bit late and, well, sometimes he held tobacco under his lip. Luckily everyone in the group knows better than to judge a person by initial perceptions. When Patrick added to a conversation, asked a question, asked for advice or challenged a peer, he was eloquent, brilliant, gracious and determined. He was also authentic and forthright; the truth was not something you had to dig for with Patrick. This young man was indeed a leader. A leader working out a few kinks (and we all have those).

He was respected and loved by me and his peers in this group. He is dearly missed and will always be remembered.

Dear Mike, Lisa, & Janicki Family,
I am so so sorry for your loss. There are no words to express how many lives Patrick had affected with his sweetness, and his infectious smile & humor. He will always be that cute little boy across the hall from us at Iron Blosam. The one who was never afraid to try everything his big brothers did. He always had a warm heart and a smile on his face. He made everyone a better person just by being around him. We will miss him very dearly, as he was not just that little boy across the hall, but an extended part of the Mommer family forever. this is not goodbye but see you later, as now he's a guardian angel .
He was way to young, and the world will never be the same without him. Our family will forever hold a special place in our hearts for Pat. We wish we could be there to say see you later. May the beautiful memories of his life never fade, but make us laugh and put a smile on our face just thinking of him, & the fun times we had together growing up with each other. We will continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers during this hard time. Will love you forever Pat, until we see you again, God Bless your nd may you watch over the rest of your family. We love you Janicki Family.

Sincerely,
The Mommer-Singh Family

I'm very sorry for your families loss.

I went to school with Patrick and I remember clearly the first day I met him during football practice in the summer before 8th grade. He introduced himself to me right away and we were brothers from that point forward.

I can hear his voice clearly in my head and I remember all his funny sayings he would tell me.

Last year I wasn't going to be on the float for our 10 year reunion and Patrick contacted me out of the blue and reminded me that we were brothers for life and that I should come. I'm glad I listened to him and he made me feel better when he said that

He was a great man and will be in my heart as long as I live and the hearts of others.

I'll see you again one day p.j.

All The Fathers Sons
(A Time For Patrick)

That joy, that wonder
That baby boy

Watch him grow
Pack his lunch, off to school

Little league, Boy Scouts, High School sports
Birthdays, celebrations, proms

Graduations; high school and college
The Honors of it all

The love, the pride
Sons of All Fathers

The gifts, the giving
The life well lived, the promise of the future

But Then, the accident
The injuries, the pain, the struggles

And suddenly one day it's over
The spirit lives on, outside the pain, outside the struggle
