Kelly Lynn Dorman

1963 - 2016

Kelly Lynn Dorman of Mackinac Island passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, following a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born August 1, 1963, to Sandra and Joseph Lundy. She married Robin Dorman 22 years ago and the couple moved to Mackinac Island in 2002, where they built a home and enjoyed the island community. She especially enjoyed the spring wildflowers blooming along the trails.
Kelly Dorman was an accomplished artist, and had her work displayed in shows in Michigan and other states. Her distinctive style was always a sure conversation starter, said her husband, Robin, and, most recently, she had found her niche in Traverse City at the Dennos Museum at Northwestern Michigan College.
She was an active participant in the living history community through her involvement with Civil War reenactments, and she was often a speaker and workshop presenter at an annual conference in Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Dorman was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Edward Lundy; her maternal grandparents, Frank F. W. Smith and Angela Smith Cannello; her paternal grandparents and stepgrandfather, Elton Lundy, Mary Lundy Long, and Reginald Long; and her uncle, David Lundy.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son and his family, Jeffrey and Ashley Cunningham, and grandson, Maverick, of St. Johns; her stepchildren, Chris Dorman and Corrie Pierce and their children, Henry and Samantha, of Burlington, Vermont, and Joli and Matthew Heavin and Clarabelle Rose of Indianapolis, Indiana; her mother and
stepfather, Dean and Sandra DuVall of Lake City; a sister and her family, Kerry and Tim Carpenter of Adrian; her stepgrandfather, James Cannello; two aunts, Mary Lundy Sylvester and Bridget Lundy, and a great aunt, Mary Murphy of Australia.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 6, at 1 p.m. at Ste. Anne's Catholic Church with a reception to follow in the Terrace Room at Grand Hotel.
