Phyllis J. Lapczynski, 73, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, January 15, 2021.
Phyllis was born June 19, 1947 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late Phillip and Violet (Smisek) Schneider.
On October 22, 1966 Phyllis married Arthur Lapczynski who survives. They had a loving 54 years of marriage.
Phyllis worked as a hairdresser for 45 years. She owned and operated four salons in Michigan City and Rolling Prairie. She also was an educator for the Nioxin Hair and Skin campaign for three years from 1998-2000, and a Mary Kay consultant. She was a member of St. Joseph Association, LeMans Academy, St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and the President of Hairdresser Organization. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, traveling, and going on cruises.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Arthur; two daughters, Gina (Scott) DeMeyer of New Carlisle, Indiana and Michelle Lapczynski of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Alvie Ellenwine, Bronson Ellenwine, and Drake Ellenwine. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Dustin Ellenwine; a sister, Joanne Freeland; and a brother, Phillip Schneider.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Mass at 11 a.m. CST, followed by a Polish meal. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 55756 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, Indiana 46552.

I am so sad to hear of Phyllis’s passing. I met Phyllis in MARY KAY, she was a great help to me as much as being a good friend. She was a beautiful lady, so many times meant to call her. I wish I had now. Rest In Peace sweet lady.
