WILSON "BUD" MURPHY

In loving memory of absolutely the best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, WILSON "BUD" MURPHY, age 87, of Beech Creek, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at his home. Born April 23, 1931, at O'Keefe, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Joe and Audrey Simpkins Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Clark, and three sisters, Josie Goad, Mary Benns and Jan Duez. Bud was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. For most of his life, he was a coal miner and coal owner/operator. He was a member of the Hugh C. Boyd Masonic Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel, but the most important was his family. He made sure that his family was taken care of and always said that he was blessed and proud of his family. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Fallie Gay Workman Murphy; four daughters, Audrey "Cookie" and Ronald "Bo" Kennedy, Sue and Bobby Goad, Pamela and Oscar "Halo" Pack and Kathryn and Calvin Clark. He was affectionately known as Popaw B to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his grandchildren being Wilson (Angie) Goad, Kim Kennedy, Shawn (Wendy) Goad, Rhonda (Mike) Goad, Jason (Kristi) Pack, Jessica Clark, Bethany (Matt) Hatfield and Rachel (Francisco) Gamero, his great-grandchildren Alecia (Dillon) Meadows, Amon Goad, Kaylee Edwards, Kub Kennedy and Isa Scales, Shawna, Ashley and Ayden Goad, Seth, Daylin and Michaelin Goad, Alyssa and Jackson Pack, Braxton, Mattix and Hagan Hatfield; his beloved pet, Rascal; four brothers, Joey, Benny, James and Bruce Murphy; two sisters, Martha Spires and Betty Kane; and a host of other family and friends.
