Jodean Lemmons, Sr.
GAFFNEY, SC-- Jodean Orlando Lemmons, Sr., 80, of 703 S. Limestone Street, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Daisy Louise Lindley Lemmons and was the son of the late Gothard and Macie Wilson Lemmons. Mr. Lemmons was the owner and operator of Lemmons Farms and Daisy Outdoor Advertising, was a 2012 inductee into the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, was a 2011 inductee into the S.C. Peach Festival Hall of Fame, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Jodean Orlando Lemmons, Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Gaffney; two daughters, Deana Lemmons Blanton and husband, Steve, of Gaffney, and Kimberly Lemmons Hunter and husband, Kevin, of Greenville; two brothers, Osborne Lemmons and wife, Donalene, of Gaffney and Perry Lemmons and wife, Betty of Atlanta; two sisters, Juliet Keller and Vivian Ramsey, both of Gaffney; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Lemmons and Miriam Lemmons, both of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Steven Blanton and wife, Anna, Misa Henderson and husband, Matthew, Alicia Blanton, Lydia Lemmons, Trey Lemmons, Leland Lemmons, all of Gaffney, and Robert Hunter and William Hunter, both of Greenville; a great-grandchild, Lilly Henderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Freeman Lemmons and Dever Lemmons.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at First Baptist Church with Dr. M. B. Morrow, Jr., Rev. Roy Mathis and Rev. Joel Sellers officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
