Clare Ballenger Obituary

Clare Eugenia Ballenger
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Clare Eugenia Ballenger, 98, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015.
Born January 22, 1917, in Spartanburg SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Eugene and Elizabeth Miller Ballenger. Miss Ballenger's brother, Clarence Eugene Ballenger Jr., and sister, Elizabeth Ballenger Jones, predeceased her.
She attended Hollins College and graduated from Winthrop College. For over 39 years, she made her home in Washington, DC, where she worked for the US Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Navy. She then retired to Palm Bay, FL, and returned to Spartanburg in 2013.
Miss Ballenger is survived by two nieces, Haidee B. Courson and Elizabeth B. Wise. Four nephews, Norwood P. Ballenger of Atlanta, GA; Dr. Clarence E. Ballenger III of Trenton, NC; Ashby E. Jones of Santa Ana, CA and Miller B. Jones of Wilmington, DE.
The service will be private, but the family requests that everyone who is reading this obituary, please give thanks for their own friends and families.
