Though I can attest to what has been said about Miguel's athletic abilities and competitive nature, having played on several softball, volleyball and of course basketball teams (with all 3 Kenney boys), my most cherished memories will be other things we shared, including many dear friends, quiet discussions over games of chess and lunches, and many years of sobriety. My heart goes out to Eva, his children and the whole family. God Bless!

I spent most of my childhood at the Kenney home and, as a young girl, remember those older Kenney boys and the constant patter of the basketball in the driveway, Beatles posters in the basement and records propped up against the wall waiting to be played. I shared the news this week with both of my brother's as we have often reminisced and had shared fond memories of Mike. Kevin was at UW around the same years as Mike and has talked many times of Mike's natural athletic ability, including Mike getting on the UW baseball team as a walk on player that is an example of how athletic Mike was. Mike left a big, happy footprint in our lives and all three of us are holding the Kenney family in our thoughts. Godspeed Mike.

Mike was my one of my very best friends (Garry) older brother...therefore I took many a bruise playing basketball on their driveway...He was one tough competitor for sure, but had this quietness and kindness inside...I thank him for his service in Vietnam and pray for my friend Garry and the entire family and friends of a wonderful person...Miquel, rest in peace my friend...you will be missed much.

I feel like I have lost a big brother, You were one of the wisest men I have ever known. Whether it was working with you or, even better, playing basketball, you were always a source of positive energy.I have not seen you for several years, but knowing you are gone hurts more than words can express.

Mike was my older brother. I feel very fortunate for that. He taught me a lot. Those who knew him know that he was very competitive. I benefited from his competitive spirit whether it was little league baseball, sandlot football, basketball, running, swimming, jump roping, boxing, or something more cerebral like playing chess. I cherish him and will miss him dearly. Garry

Mike, I met you and Eva post firefighting days. Eva so generously taught me Spanish. It was always wonderful when you would make an appearance. I feel so happy that we could share brunch together this past Christmas time. You shared a few stories about your time over seas. You livid a very vibrant life. I feel lucky to have spent time in your company. Lots of love to your family and loved ones left feeling your absence. Xoxo

Mike, my very first shift on the job at 10's we were on the Squad together, and you took me under your wing. I have admired you ever since, with your kind patience, humor, intelligence and willingness to teach. You were one courageous soldier too, and your service is to be honored and respected. I sure enjoyed running in to you at the doctors office where you were interpreting for a family. You are greatly missed, Mike. R.I.P.
