From 1975 to 1977 Bob's would be the first face I'd see each working day upon entering the News Room of the old Atlantic Street office of The Advocate since the Sports Desk was located right there. I couldn't figure out how this guy always beat me to work and why he seemed to always be there. His community/professional devotion is how and why. May you rest in peace. Adding my sincerest condolences to your family.

Dear Bartan and Family
Bob and I met at Stamford High and remained good friends for 60 years. My wife, Ann and Bartan were close friends. Our children were friends with their children. Bob was a great father and all around good guy. He was also a great Super Bowl prognosticator He was a good athlete and an excellent journalist but he rarely talked about those things. His true sports passion was the kids he had coached. Stamford has had a long line of great coaches whose names are and will be long remembered. Bob Kennedy belongs in that group
With Bob's passing, Stamford has lost one of its true icons. He will be missed.

Dear Bartan & Family,
As a high school classmate and baseball teammate, I remember Bobby as a passionate and dedicated athlete and one of the most likeable guys I have known. His distinguished journalism career and staunch support of local youth programs is a level of community commitment that few others have attained. The Stamford sports world has lost a true champion!

Bartan: So sad to hear about your loss. Bobby and I go back to 1966 when I came to The Hour. Our friendship continued in the sports-writing business for the next 20 plus years until I retired to Florida in 1996. Memories are so many. I am sure he will be missed by all.

Dear Kennedy Family,
When you think of “class act” you think of Mr. Bobby Kennedy ! Nobody knew local sports and covered all levels of it better than his Sports Department back in the day ! What truly amazes me is how much Bob is loved by the entire Community and the lasting wonderful impressions he had on so many athletes and Families !
Always looked forward on Super Bowl Sunday reading who all the local experts picked to win the big game.
Bobby will forever be missed and the great memories he left behind for so many will shine bright forever. May he RIP !! Thoughts and prayers to you all !!
