Cathy Blacker Obituary
Catherine (Cathy) Blacker was born in Stamford, CT on March 9, 1947, and she died on January 18, 2021 in Groton, CT.
She was the daughter of the late Allen and Catherine (Kay) Blacker of Allen's Floor Waxing Service.
She lived in Stamford most of her life until she moved to North Stonington in 2010.
Cathy was the founder of SCAT (Southern Connecticut Animal Trust) and spent much of her life rescuing and caring for homeless animals.
Cathy is survived by her brother Daniel, her niece Susan, and her nephews Douglas and Allen, III.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Allen, Jr.
Cathy will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

I used to adopt cats from her. So sad she passed away. Condolences to her family. I wonder if she was sick.

I adopted two cats from Cathy. Very surprised to learn of her passing.
she was a really nice person. My cats I adopted from Cathy passed away.

I’m so sorry to hear of Cathy’s passing. She was an angel on earth for animal rescue! I met Cathy in 1999 when we adopted our sweet Meggie (known as Feisty at S.C.A.T.). We actually just lost Meggie in November, she was a few months shy of 22! I sent a few friends to Cathy who adopted cats and did a few fundraisers. She was always smiling and so dedicated, literally a God sent to our 4 legged friends. Sending prayers and condolences to her family. Rest in heavenly peace Cathy, you certainly deserve it!

Csthy was my friend, like family to me. 20 years of friendship. Good times and bad times, but we stuck together and life was very interesting. Cathy introduced me to animal rescue. Love you Cathy.
