SHEFFIELD Twp. — Frank J. Benetka Sr., was a loving husband, father and trusted neighbor in Sheffield Township. He was a dairy farmer who raised registered Holstein cows and he worked for many years as a truck driver for Koski Construction. He was meticulous in plowing and planting crops.His many hobbies were dancing, hunting with blue tick hound dogs and gardening in his later years. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, a founding member of the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Dept., the Ashtabula Moose Club and a lifelong member of the Sheffield Grange.He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bertha (Flayer) Benetka; Mildred his sister; his wives, Pauline and Ann; and an infant son, Roger.He is survived by his children, Linda J. (Carroll) Herrman of Warren, Jane (Joe) Lokiec-Balombin of Westlake, Frank (Carol) Benetka Jr. of Geneva, Nancy S. (Richard) Wahl of Huntsburg, Ralph M. (Emily) Benetka of Jefferson and Randy P. Benetka of Warren; his grandchildren, Paula, Matthew, Benjamin, Melissa, Ralph Jr., Frank, Timothy, Michael, Adam and Kristi; three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Fitzwilliam and Daniel; and a loving niece, Marion Peck of Sheffield Township.Dad, you will always be in our loving thoughts and prayers and we thank you for giving us your undivided love and guidance.Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 3700 St. Rt. 193, Sheffield Township, with the Father Stephen Wassie as celebrant. Burial will be in Gageville Cemetery in Sheffield Township.Calling Hours will be held today, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Jefferson Home of the FLEMING and BILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.Contributions may be made to the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Dept., 3636 Sheffield-Monroe Road, Kingsville, Ohio 44048. When I was a little boy I was given
my first ride on a tractor by Jim
Benetka and he was the only one I
knew but this brings back memories
of so long ago and I extend my
heartfelt sympathy to every family
