Lona Hardee Obituary
Lona Norris Hardee, 92, of Hickmans Crossroads, died Sunday, May 23, 2010. She was born in Brunswick County on October 16, 1917, a daughter of Frank Mendal and Delta Long Norris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thelton Hardee, and son, Kenneth Hardee.
Surviving are her son, Kendall Hardee and his wife, Jackie, of Shallotte; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Hardee of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mary Owens of Ash; brother, Jimmy Norris of Wilmington; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church by The Rev. Phil Norris. Burial will be in Manley Bennett Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Aunt Lona was one of the coolest aunts anyone could ever have. She and Mr. Thelton's sister in law, Fleeta Cox Hardee,my grandmother, visited my family when my dad, Donald R. Hardee Sr. was stationed in Hawaii in the mid sixties. Always loving and funny!!

For many months "Mama Lona" wondered why Kenneth didn't visit her; they are now enjoying a long-awaited homeoming. There will be many fond memories of a loving and lovely Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Mother-in-Law.
