Wes was my friend in high school. I never realized it back then, but he had the most diverse group of friends of anyone I knew. It is the small things that give an indication of what people will be like later in life. Wes was a guy who picked his friends carefully but it did not matter who they were.

Wes was my law school classmate, and I am shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. We took many tax (and other) classes together where his presence was clearly undeniable, as was his clarity on the topic. It goes without saying that Wes encouraged quite a few in- and out-of-class debates about whatever the subject matter of the day was! He was one of a kind!
I am sure that Wes served his clients with the passion and enthusiasm with which he lived each day. He was the guy who relished the thought of charting the unbeaten path with passion, even in the face of adversity. He was a man of strong convictions who seldom declined the opportunity to share his thought-provoking ideas with those who would listen and be engaged. I am sure that he is already greatly missed.
To his wife, children and family I extend my heartfelt condolences. Think often on your wonderful memories of spending time with Wes. I am more than certain that he left MANY funny and wonderful moments to remember and share. I can say with confidence that he loved his family, especially his wife and children, with a love that was undeniable, and quite possibly at times overwhelming. That's just who he was, and you were all blessed to be the apple of his eye!
Rest in peace, Wes!

Wes and I grew up playing baseball together from little league through the Gilman teams and the high school summer leagues. Although it's been years since we last saw each other, I will always have a warm place in my heart for those fond memories. Please accept my condolences and know that my thoughts are with his family.
