ELVIE LINWOOD WHITE, III Elvie Linwood White, III July 14, 1955 - March 20, 2015 Elvie Linwood White, III, 59, of Wilson passed away Friday. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Wilson. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Doug Murray will officiate. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the residence. Linwood was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Business Administration and held several financial certifications and licenses. His career as a Financial Advisor spanned 34 years, 19 years with Merrill Lynch and most recently, 15 years with Wells Fargo Advisors. He was a member of several clubs and organizations, including the UNC Alumni Association, the E.L. White Society of UNC Wilmington, AA, and the YMCA of Wilson. Surviving are his wife, Lynne M. White, of the home; son, E. Linwood White IV, of the home; step-son, Lucas G. Barnes, of Sims, his fiance, Nichole Murphy, and her son, Kamden Murphy; mother and step-father, Lynn and Richard "Dick" Dunlea, of Wilmington; sisters, Anne White Godwin and husband, Clark, and their son, Clark Jr., of Raleigh, and Laura White, of Marshville; brother, William White, of Wilmington; mother and father-in-law, Minnie and Sam McCullen, of Wilson; brother-in-law, Joe McCullen and wife, Melanie, and their daughters, Conley and Logan, all of Smithfield; and two kitties, Koko and Roxie. He was preceded in death by his father, E.L.
