Charles Liese Obituary

CHARLES WARD LIESE Charles Ward "Chuck" Liese of Huntington, NY passed away on March 7, 2016. He is survived by his son, Scott Alexander Liese, sister Patricia Liese, brothers Michael Liese and Harper Peterson, and his beloved granddaughter Marianna Catherine Liese. Chuck graduated from Huntington High School and Farmingdale University and later in his life Parsons School of Design in NYC. After joining the Army and serving his country he went on to be an artist with the renowned Charles E. Cooper Art Studio in Manhattan, NY where he did work for Ford, Volkswagen, Pepsi Cola and other top clients. From there he moved on to illustration work for publishers Doubleday, Dell, Bantam House, Random House and many others. Chuck loved teaching and taught throughout his own art career at Great Neck High School, Parsons, Syracuse University, and ultimately became a tenured Professor at State University of New York. Chuck relocated to Wilmington in the 90s and went to work with Portraits South where he was one of their principle portrait artists. He made numerous artistic contributions to his Wilmington community through his church, First Baptist, the Wilmington Fire Department, and was a committed volunteer throughout in many ways. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 10 at First Baptist Church, Wilmington, NC followed by a celebration of life at the home of Harper Peterson and Pamela Dodge, 212 Orange St at 5 pm.

I'm so sorry I just saw this. I adore Chuck and had wonderful conversations with him over at Wabi Sabi Warehouse. Talented, spiritual, thoughtful human being. Safe travels, Chuck. Love.

Chuck was a very special person in my life. He and I formed a special bond, and I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family!
