Lobash (Hamm) Betty-Jean Lobash, 75, of Mpls, passed away in her home on August 3, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Longtime professional seamstress, B.J.'s talents were creating custom wedding apparel and commerical alterations for more than 50 years. Business ventures included: dedicated tailor for "Fashion Fabrics," "Sew Bee It" and "The Spool Cabinet" of Golden Valley, providing Olive Mullen and Ellie Nelson with custom sewing for clientel throughout the Twin Cities. Formerly of Villard, MN, she embraced Minneapolis, attending the U of M, after which she was employed by Winton Lumber, Mpls, and later by PC Systems, Golden Valley. Preceded in death by her parents, Harley & Anna Hamm of Villard, MN. Survived by her husband of 50 years, Floyd Lobash; sons, Craig (Topanaga, CA) and Bradley (Golden Valley); daughter, Leora Rae Stern (Malibu, CA); grandchildren, Sonya Stern (Malibu) and Nikolaus and Samuel Lobash (Golden Valley). She will also be fondly remembered by her lifelong friend, Evelyn Meyer and special friends, Marilyn Reed and Olive Mullen, all of Golden Valley. Funeral service scheduled for 10:30 AM Monday, August 9 at Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Rd., New Hope. Interment at Sunset Cemetery, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE, Mpls. Visitation TONIGHT (Sunday) from 4-8 PM and again one hour prior to the service, all at the funeral home. Betty-Jean's family would like to extend thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Methodist Hospital & Hospice, St. Louis Park, for their care and concern for her comfort and our needs.
