Amy,
On Saturday morning, May 16, 2009 a tree was planted in your memory at Widen Elementary school. Several of your 3rd grade students, parents and Widen staff met to plant the tree. The tree was donated by The Croys. The students helped dig the hole (Thank You Mr. Hershell and Mr. Croy for starting it!) Mrs. Pryor read a poem in your memory. The students made stepping stones to place around the tree. Shortly after leaving the tree planting ceremony, it started to rain. It was almost like you and God planned the rain to water your tree. When we see the tree, we will think of you and remember the impact you had on so many students and the impression you left on parents and your co-workers. We miss you and think of you often.
With loving thoughts and wishes to you and your family,
Elena's Mom & Widen PTA

To All of Amy's Family:
Amy was a fellow vendor at City Wide Garage Sale in Austin. We bought from each other and always made a point to chat. I see there were many sides to Amy that I never knew. The Amy I knew always smiled, laughed, and had a great attitude. The void left by her passing will be felt by many, in many different ways. I will miss her whenever I pass HER booth location.
Please know that my condolences and heartfelt prayers are with you all. May God give you the strength to remember the wonderful time he shared Amy with us all.

I taught with Amy for a year and a half at Widen. It is hard to believe that the sweet lovely energetic woman I have grown to know isn't comming back to us. Mrs. Robertson was my son Jon's 2nd and 3rd grade teaher. Friday morning when I got the call my heart sank to the floor. I knew my son would be heartbroken and as badly as I wanted to be there to comfort him I was stuck at work. My mother later called me and I spoke with my son and no words came out just tears of a boy who never thought in a million years his teacher he'd admire pass away. Mrs. Robertson was a great and loving teacher who will be missed by the entire school. I remember one day I got a phone call from the school (I have the # programmed in my phone) so I assumed he had gotten into trouble (she'd call me when he did). Mrs. Roberston would say "hi is this Jon's mom" and to my suprise she said "I just want to tell you Jon's having an awesome day today" and I told that made my day. My son asks "why mom" and I tell him God was missing an angel.

The few times I was a vendor at the City Wide Garage Sale, Amy was my best customer. She was such an exhuberant, delightful young woman that I visited with her and bought small treasures from her artfully arranged booth at every subsequent sale. I'm an older woman, but Amy didn't recognize age barriers among her friends, and always seemed to be happy to see me. That was who she was.

I was heartbroken to see an obituary for her in Sunday's paper. When we visited at the last sale, she was excited about the application she had submitted for a different teaching position, and the future dream of parenting. How tragic that such a beautiful young life is ended. My heartfelt sympathies to all who loved her dearly. I know I'll always feel a sadness when I pass the back wall in the Palmer where she had her booth.

I will surely miss Amy's big smile and winning attitude. By winning I mean literally...some of you may not know that she was a very shrewd cardshark! I will miss playing poker and Hotels with Amy, and also talking about antiques and thrifting. She was so beautiful, smart, and sincere. My dear Josh, I know your heart is so broken. Please let Caleb and I know if we can do anything at all for you...we hope to see you very soon. Much love, Kara

Mrs. Robertson was my 4th grade teacher, I remember the days when she would get so excited about reading Shel Silverstein to my class. She was very caring for her students, and made sure they would work to there fullest potential. She helped me learn the basics of writing compositions and encouraged me to always do my best, she believed in me, and nothing felt better than that. In 4th grade i knew her as Ms. Solis, I remember on Valentines' Day of that year [2002], she was very excited and was spreading love all around Widen Elementary, it was before we were getting dismissed for lunch when her husband, Josh walked in and handed her roses, KFC, and chocolates. That day you could tell she was just glowing with happiness. I can remember it, like it was yesterday. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and she loved the people she knew just as much. Towards the last week of my 4th grade year before summer break, she announced to us that she was getting married in July, I was so happy for her. We all were. My thoughts and prayers are with her family&friends. She was a beautiful, caring, wonderful person, the kind of person that when she walked into the room, nobody would be in a bad mood. She hyped everyone up and was always happy and spreading smiles. I will miss you a whole lot Ms. Robertson.(:

I did not know Amy as well as others, but in the short time my wife and I had to spend with her, we knew that she was very caring, very understanding, and very special. We knew Josh through my time at Texas and he is a great man. Amy was a perfect person for him and I am so sorry for him. In seeing them together, it was seeing Josh in a new light. Being married and having this happen to the person who means the most in your life is a terrible thing and I hope Josh finds the strength to endure this time. Amy was amazing and after reading through some of the entries, it is a great life she lived. Her ability to touch people through her life. Jennifer and I send our condolences to Amy's family, to Josh and his family, and to everyone she touched. Josh, I hope that you will accept our most sincere sympathy and condolence. I truly hope that your memories of the happier moments will help ease your pain.

Amy, (Mrs.Robertson) was my 3rd grader Louise-Renee's teacher. My daughter really loved her and she also felt the love of her teacher. Louise-Renee would always tell me something about her teacher that she shared with, or something that Mrs.Robertson told her about. It really broke my heart when i heard of her passing. She was a wonderful teacher to her kids. I am glad that i had the pleasure of knowing her and I was very happy with her teaching my daughter for these 2 years. She will always be remembered. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joshua and the rest of Amy's family.

Please accept our deepest sympathies in this difficult time. Amy was a teacher to 3 of my 4 children at Widen Elementary. She was a wonderful, caring teacher and we will miss her greatly. She was a dedicated teacher and made sure her students got the tutoring they needed to pass TAKS testing. Amy helped my son get over his shyness when she chose hime to be in the 2nd grade spelling bee, she had confidence in him and told him he would be okay in front of the audience. He went on to win the spelling bee and she was so proud of him. Amy was a caring, happy person. Our prayers are with her husband Josh and her family.

My family was blessed with knowing Mrs. Robertson for the past two years. She was my daughter, Elena's teacher since 2nd grade. Though she was taken from us prematurely she left us with many wonderful memories and given my daughter a love for reading. We will forever remember her and keep her in our thoughts and prayers. We especially pray for her husband and family during this time of sorrow. Amy was a beautiful person and has left many children at Widen Elementary with saddened hearts. We will honor her the best way we can, by encouraging our children to do their best in school. She would have wanted that.

I am so sad about Mrs. Robertson. She was my daughter Morgans 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. She was so good with those kids! I never experienced a teacher quite like her in all the years my kids have been in school. She even helped my oldest get to middle school when she was struggling with math on the TAKS test. She was the one who spent long hours with these kids making a difference in the world. In the short time she was here, she made a HUGE impact. My condolences go to Josh and all of her family.
