It was very sad to hear that JD is no longer with us. It has been several years since we shared annual Christmas greetings and many more since we last saw each other, living far apart. But the memories of JD and his smile and jokes and intense streak in the weight room, on the football field and in life remain strong. He was someone I always admired, and he will be missed... I wish I could have attended the memorial but send my condolences to his family in Austin, Houston, Midland and beyond. As a parent now I can sense the pain and loss that must be felt. We are thinking of you, and our friend JD. Rest in Peace.

JD was a great friend, super workout partner - we had run of the Midland High weight facility because Culpepper gave him his own key. Intense, driven, funny, smart are just a few words that describe him. My thoughts and prayers to his family. He is missed.

JD my workout partner and a true friend. We had run of the Midland High weight facility because Coach Cullpepper gave him the key - we had a lot of fun in the summer of '84. He was a good friend - smart, intense, driven, loyal and funny. Haven't spoken to him in years but I have lasting memories his intense attitude and fun loving demeanor - he is missed prayers and thoughts to the Munn family he was a good man!
