Nadine MURPHY Obituary

MURPHY, Nadine

Nadine Murphy, born in Rockbridge Illinois, passed away at the age of 94 on July 19, 2014.

After attending nursing school near Chicago, Nadine joined the Army Nurse Corp during World War II and was stationed in Texas where she eventually settled and raised her children. Nadine was a nurse and educator for 43 years including serving as the Director of Licensed Vocational Nursing for Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio; instructor at San Antonio Junior College's school of nursing; and finally ending her long nursing career at St. David's Hospital in Austin.

She was the "darling" of Disch Falk Field from 1975 to 1993, cheering on her beloved UT Longhorns.

Nadine's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her sons, Mike and John; daughters Pat and Kathy; granddaughter Heather and husband Brandon, grandson Ryan and wife Laura; and great grandchildren Madeleine and Catherine.

At the request of the family, her memorial will be private.
