Howell Eric Larson

Howell Eric Larson, 73, of Tallahassee, FL passed away March 8 in Tallahassee, Florida.He was born June 13, 1940 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late Emil Oscar Larson and the late Ivy Morwena Ellis Larson. He served active duty in the US Navy for two years. During his service in the Navy he trained as a Communication Engineer and served sea duty on the USS Hazelwood.After his military service he worked at ECI in St. Petersburg for 14 years and became a licensed Florida Professional Engineer.He moved to Tallahassee in 1978 when he joined the Florida Department of Transportation to work as a Traffic engineer. He retired in 2005 after 27 years of service.He is survived by his two children: Jill Janet Larson-Ganey (Husband Sgt. Kenneth Ganey) and Eric Matthew Larson (Wife Karrie Larson), as well as his adopted daughter Victoria Larson Sustana (Husband Mike Sustana), his sister Sheila Mae Garrow of Dover, DE , his brother George Henry Larson of Sacramento, CA (Wife Mary Joan Larson) and his longtime companion Pat Kelly. Grandchildren include Katelyn Anne Larson, Austin Joel Ganey and Victoria Elizabeth Ganey, all of Tallahassee, FL. He was preceded in death by his brother William (Bill) Ellis Larson (Wife Mary Virginia Larson). A Memorial will be held at Culley's MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel on Sunday March 23rd from 2:00pm - 4:00 pm. A social gathering will follow the service.
