David William WAGENVOORD

WAGENVOORD, David William born Aug. 10, 1932, husband of Lola Wagenvoord, has departed Clearwater for that great radio station in the sky W-GOD on April 21, 2014. Wagenvoord, President of Wagenvoord Advertising Group Inc. and owner of the Tan Talk Radio Network is the co-author of the best-selling barter book "No Cash? No Problem!". Wagenvoord had a golf scholarship to Michigan State and started his career as "Dave Wren" bringing rock and roll to Tallahassee in 1956 after serving in Korea and working with the stars and stripes. He moved quickly up the ladder of success to become owner-operator of over 10 radio stations from Hawaii to Tampa, a broker for selling many radio stations in major markets and brokering numerous trade arrangements. "Downtown Dave" was his final radio name as he delivered character and wit in his shows and interviews on the Tan Talk Radio Network. He is survived by his wife and life partner Lola; brother, James Wagenvoord; 5 children, Alice Toland, Barry, Michael, Sam, and Helen Wagenvoord; 6 grandchildren, and his cherished dogs, Holden, Gilda, Roxie, Ragsdale and Blue.
