My childhood is filled with fond memories of my grandmother. She spoiled us not with material things, but with her time. She was never too busy to cook, dance, read and play with us. Some of my fondest memories were swimming with her, looking for shells and feeding the birds on Clearwater Beach.
The only thing that topped that was a special club we had created where we would tell jokes and act them out as well. Even though my grandmother was in her late 60's at the time, she would laugh to the point of tears at some of our elementary school (bathroom humor) jokes. Even in her late 90's she would remind me of those times and smile.
As I got older she wanted to see me reach milestones in life. She would say that she wanted to live to see me...graduate from college, get married, start a family, etc. When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, she was the first person I called. She was thrilled to have a great-grandchild! She actually lived long enough to have two great grandchildren. My daughter was born on April 30, 2007 which was my grandmother's 97th birthday!

My grandmother was a special person whose heart was filled with love for me.

I loved you too, Bama.
